This page introduces the course in English. Recorded lessons are taught in Chinese; available lessons, prices and refund terms follow the purchase platform.

Follow Lao Liu from characters and animation to scenes and lighting. Turn generated images into assets that work in Godot, and build an early, playable 2D platformer demo you can show to others.

Who it is for

No drawing or game-development experience is required. This course is for beginners who want to make something of their own, and indie developers looking to improve their art workflow. Basic computer skills and a willingness to build, check and revise are needed.

From images to a playable scene

Visual direction and consistency → character actions and image sequences → layered scenes and engine integration → scene lighting, character normal maps and effects → project packaging. Practise giving an AI agent context, breaking down tasks and checking its results.

A demo and a reusable workflow

The course includes the source project for its practice demo, so you can examine the structure and keep experimenting. The methods come from Lao Liu’s real projects, including Travelling Home: Ever After, whose Steam demo is available. The course exercise is a separate project.
